5th H&N Distributor Conference in Cairo 2025 

Long Lasting Things 

Our 5th Distributor Conference, 2025, and 80th Company Anniversary in Cairo  

This one was our biggest event so far with 150 attendees. Distributors and egg producers and their families joined from all over the world.  

And this time we went to Cairo – good to reach, with great leisure, shopping and dining opportunities, and of course, with the ancient culture that Egypt is so famous for! Although the method of building the Giza-Pyramids has not yet been fully uncovered one thing is clear: the art of building something great and lasting is a concerted effort of many people working together with one purpose: achieving something lasting and great!

Longevity 

Day One started with the opening keynote of Dr. Xabier Arbe, Managing Director of H&N International and the review of business achievements so far. Dr. David Cavero, Chief Geneticist continued with the genetic updates and performance characteristics of H&N birds in productions worldwide in various regions – increased longevity, robustness, versatility and performance marking the cornerstones of what H&N layers do differently and better than other breeds. 

Levelling up 

Veterinary Services Updates came from Dr. Fernando Carrasquer and Dr. Mikhail Malishev. Followed by the latest and greatest H&N offers in terms of nutritional services by Xabier Arbe our new hatchery specialist Dr. Kelly Brannan concluded the first leg of day one with a captivating speech about H&Ns newly established hatchery insights and updates – a service many Distributors will want to use! 

H&N is not just a synonym for customer centered services and great birds – we are also serious about having fun together! H&N Poultry Olympics saw 14 teams which had formed from mixed nations at random upon re-entering the room, each of them named after an ancient Egyptian God or Goddess, competing on questions, challenges and tasks at seven tables. Having rotated through all Xabier Arbe finally awarded bronze, silver and gold medals to three winning teams. 

That night the entire group went on a dinner cruise on the river Nile and, with our own bellies very well filled, enjoyed some traditional local music, Takht and belly dancing performances. 

The second day was dedicated to more work, small meetings with Dr. David Cavero and Dr. Xabier Arbe. And, of course, sight-seeing – you cannot possibly visit Cairo and miss the pyramids of Giza and the Sphynx! A constant challenge to our timekeeping was the thick traffic in Cairo, but our tour guides and ground team managed to still let us experience the ancient monuments from various angles, some camel riding, and helped us to not spend too much on some shopping (which is really hard to escape around the pyramids!). 

The evening had yet more oriental flavors as the group ate at a Turkish Restaurant in the New Cairo Region and enjoyed a nice and “chilly” modern club like atmosphere with life Saxophone Music – and another birthday to celebrate of one of our attendees! 

Day 3 was dedicated to hands-on Workshops and small groups for an intense exchange in new collaboration and discussion formats. These were facilitated by a team of external coaches. And soon under their guidance it was time to get your shoes off and stand on the chairs … 

Trust is a bridge between people – and our workshops illustrated trust building as an unforgettable experience. If you see people standing on chairs and tilting towards one another, forming an archway together you can imagine how lively this workshop was!  

Next, it was premier time for our new H&N company movie on the big screen. 

In the afternoon each distributor and the attending egg producer received a personal badge of honor from Dr. Xabier Arbe and Dr. David Cavero, starting with our latest new customers and culminating in renown brands that joined the H&N Family already in the last millennium like Cabanha Barhy of Argentine, Prodavi of Switzerland and Öztavuk from Turkey.  

Proud winners of an Arty „Best Flock“ Award this year where PPZ from Russia and Avicultura Brazil.  

Highlight of our week was doubtless Dirk Wesjohann’s speech at our Gala Dinner. He acknowledged everyone’s achievements in the past 5 years and reconfirmed what makes H&N International a pioneer and inspiring example amongst the companies of the EW-Group. 

We wish to send a big heartfelt Thank You to all our attendees and we also extend it to all our colleagues and external staff. It was everyone’s contribution that made this Distributor Conference a major milestone – really a gemstone! – in our shared history!
